Two years!

My blog is now two years old. Oh, and so am I.

Happy Birthday!

We had a great party where lots of friends came over to play and my grandparents all visited.

Vacation, all I ever wanted

I took my third (and final free) plane trip last month to Seattle and nearby national parks.

We hiked.

Opting against the 7-8 mile trails

And hiked.

More hiking

And hiked.

Having a good time

We saw snow.

We saw trees.

Does anyone else see this?

And we saw bigger trees.

It was the bestest vacation ever, or at least the best vacation since the last one.

My friend E. was nice enough to give me his old Maillot Jaune, which I have since proudly worn on many bike rides.

Participant

I ran in my first race at the tender age of 1 (well, almost 2) on the 4th of July. The Macklind Mile that Daddy ran had a Kids Quarter Mile Dash. This would be the farthest I've ever run before (the one-year-old's equivalent of a half marathon), but I wasn't too worried because I can walk really far.

Ready to run

Me and Daddy before the race

My race number was almost as big as I am. Once I figured out what was going on the race was very exciting.

I ran the entire way without stopping, and I even accelerated towards the finish (which is more than I can say for Daddy). As I approached the finish line the crowd roared, making it even more exciting. Mom & Dad recorded an amazing video of this part of the race, but I decided to delete it from Mommy's phone before we could share it with anyone. So you'll have to settle for the race photo.

You can see my main one-year-old competition off to the right in the photo. He was in the lead for a while, but towards the finish he decided he wanted to turn around and run the other way. But I knew what to do because I watched Daddy run through the finish line before my race started.

Participant

As you can see from the ribbon they gave me at the finish line, I was indeed a participant. I can't wait to do this again.

Fun and Games

It's all fun and games lately. My new favorite thing is to stand up on the bed and fall backward. I could do that for hours (and sometimes I do).

Falling down

Now that the weather is warm we're spending even more time outside having fun.

But we still know how to have fun indoors.

Hopping down the bunny trail

I've been dancing up a storm lately. At home. At daycare. At home. I really loved the Easter card Grandma and Grandpa R. sent me.

At the playground last weekend I rode the teeter-totter for the first time. Wheee!

I've been fighting crime in my spare time.

In the chill of night, at the scene of the crime

I have taken to eating on the couch.

I hit the terrible twos.

But we still have a good time.
