One heck of a week

It's been one heck of a week. We moved (temporarily) into a hotel room in St. Louis and Mom has been working every day at her new job. During the days Dad tries to keep me entertained with various activities, sometimes even pushing me in the stroller while talking on the phone or answering emails from people at work.

Walking in Forest Park with Daddy

So far we've made too many loops to count around Forest Park in the bike trailer. We've walked and biked all over the Washington University campus, our future neighborhood, my future daycare, the loop, and so on.

Daddy & I have been to the zoo twice and we still haven't even seen half of it.

We also went to the Magic House children's museum. It was super-cool, though most of it was a bit too advanced for me right now. I'll probably get more out of it in the coming months.

On top of everything else, I've been trying exciting new foods, like Clif Bars and Veggie Sticks.

My new favorite activity is crawling back and forth on the floor of the hotel room.

I can't wait for more of the same in the coming week. I'm having such a blast!

Great Grammy Florence

As Momma mentioned, my Great Grammy Florence passed away yesterday. We're all a little sad about the news, but at the same time we're thrilled she was able to live such a rich, full life. I had the great pleasure of meeting her last fall, which was fun (despite the look on my face in Daddy's bad photo). Great Grammy Florence, we will miss you!

Birthday party

Feliz Cumpleaños

Okay, so I'm not quite one year old yet (my birthday is on Thursday), but that didn't stop us from partying a few days early! Some friends and relatives came over for a good time.

When it came time for me to eat cake for the first time everyone stared at me while I sat in my high chair. Maybe it made me a little nervous because I didn't much feel like eating cake.

Well, today I gave the cake another try and this time I loved it!

Anyway, thanks so much to everyone, especially Mommy, for such a great birthday party! Can we have another one on Thursday?

I can totally crawl now

The past couple weeks I was almost crawling. Starting on Saturday, I took the plunge and crawled a few paces to nab Daddy's water bottle after he unwittingly set it on the floor. I continued doing short crawls over the next couple days, even showing off my new abilities to Grandma Barb and Grandpa Bruce. Last night I crawled halfway across the room. I'm getting the hang of this, despite the difficult hardwood floors.

In other news, I'm still adorable.
